Why should you use me as a motivational and/or inspirational speaker?
I am married to my amazing, beautiful, best friend and we have three beautiful daughters. I have spent 26 years in the military and battled many demons. There was even a time I battled suicide. After I retired, I dedicated myself full time to sharing my story in hopes of helping others become their better selves. There are too many people with internal struggles who feel cut off from everyone, feel alone, or believe they are the only ones battling their demons.
Far too often we allow events in our past to control our thoughts, our emotions, and define who we are. The past is gone, it is no longer existent. Why do we dwell on things that no longer exist? We worry about the future when it hasn't happened yet. It hasn't happened yet, it is nonexistent. Why do we let our imaginations influence our thoughts, our emotions, and our behaviors? I have learned what memories to hold on to and which ones to let go of. I have also learned to enjoy RIGHT NOW! The present is our most precious gift.
I have also learned the true meaning of servant leadership, to serve others, to inspire people to better themselves. Life in the military has taught me many things. I have seen good and bad in this world. It is my belief that no matter what is happening, life is a gift and we need to experience it, enjoy it, LIVE it!
I have a passion for inspiring people to get the help they need, communicate to others who may have similar situations, and to push towards a happy, healthy life! I have addressed military, police, and civilian audiences. I share many stories from my dark past and provide information on how I was able to reset my mind, body, and spirit to live the best life!
Too many of us are not taking care of ourselves physically. Are we taking the time for self-care? Physical fitness is important to our overall health. Exercise can make you feel better, physically and emotionally, and also helps prevent physical issues, disease, high blood pressure, etc. while improving your quality of life.
Why are we so afraid to open up and talk about issues we are dealing with mentally? Why do we cling on to events/situations from the past? Even though many veterans have been trained to practice resiliency, far too often we do not utilize the resources and tools provided to assist us mentally and emotionally.
Your belief in a higher power can greatly affect those around you. No matter the belief system - we are strengthened daily by our active participation to develop spiritually. We need to stop and truly think about our spirituality and then ask what are we doing to be active in our faith/beliefs.
When you put some focus and priority into your physical health, your mental health, and your spiritual health, you will find yourself feeling better, thinking better, and having faith, confidence, and trust in yourself and those around you.
